Luqman Adeniyi is a digital news producer at CNN. He works on the digital politics team, handling social media, programming, and tracking trends and analytics for the site. Luqman’s team also assist in breaking news coverage and works with writers and editors on overall digital production.
Prior to his time at CNN, Luqman was a news associate at CNBC. He joined the business news network in 2016 as part of the NBC news associate program. He began his time in the rotational program as a segment producer for the “Closing Bell,” then he became a writer for CNBC.com and spent his last year at the network as a social video producer.
Luqman is a proud Dallas native and is a journalism graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. He focused on multimedia producing and also studied political communication and business.

While maintaining a rigorous course load and working as a writing coach, Luqman interned at KXAN News and Community Impact Newspaper in Austin, TX, and briefly reported for UT’s nationally recognized newspaper, The Daily Texan. He also was a reporter and producer for the award-winning news department at Texas Student Television. During his last two years at UT, Luqman served as TSTV’s associate news director, then news director at the entirely student-run station.
Luqman also worked at The Associated Press as a Global News intern in New York City during the summer of 2015 and was a Texas Tribune reporting fellow in the fall. He became co-editor of burnt x in January 2016 until graduation that May.
Luqman capped off his time at UT with an environmental reporting trip to Australia through the month of June.
